LEHIGH VALLEY IN HOME SERVICES
We provide therapeutic, high level of care services and supervised counseling to help youth with mental health disorders, physically acting out behaviors, and family issues.
Lehigh Valley In-Home Services utilize a freestanding community intervention model, a step-down from more intensive community programming, or as an aftercare component assisting with the transition of the youth returning to the community from residential placements.
Mental health disorders lead to suicide, which is the third leading cause of deaths among adolescents of ages 10-24.
20% of youth have diagnosed mental health disorders. Among them less than half of the adolescents receive or have access to mental health care services.
CHOR understands the significance of family involvement and participation in the child’s recovery plan.
Traditional Program
Clients receive training in life skills, drug and alcohol prevention/intervention, anger management/emotional regulation, including other individualized areas. Services for families include parenting and communication skills, conflict resolution, and enhancing their capacity to understand the youth’s needs.
Program Length
This varies depending on the complexities within the family and may last from 6 months to 18 months and more. Our goal is to provide children and adolescents mental health services in the least restrictive settings while maintaining community safety.
Specialized Family-Based Program
Clients receive in-home and on-site family-based services for youth who are acting out sexually within a family system as well as providing a step-down program for youth returning early from residential placement, or as an intensive aftercare program for sexually acting out youth with multiple issues that still need addressing.
Does your child need specialized treatment services?
We help families with inappropriate dynamics, discipline, communication, and conflict resolution, and promote familial support and roles/responsibilities. The Children’s Home of Reading provides intervention services to help clients build upon their behavioral, relational, and emotional competencies that are essential for them to succeed in family, school, and community life.
What are Client Rights?
It is the policy of The Children’s Home of Reading to respect and inform each client and their families about client rights while receiving services through the agency’s programs. Clients/families will be informed of these rights in a manner that they can understand.
