Welcoming Kristin White as CHOR’s New Director of Residential Treatment Services.

The Children’s Home of Reading (CHOR) is excited to welcome Kristin White, the Lead Clinician at CHOR's Girls Residential Treatment Program (GRTF), in her new role, as the Director of Residential Treatment Services

Kristin is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), with an extensive background in trauma-focused care, for at-risk youth. She began her career as a therapist, soon after completing her Master’s in Counseling from Alvernia University, in 2013. With a wealth of knowledge and passion for helping at-risk adolescents, Kristin began her career within a Residential Treatment setting working with female teen survivors of Human Trafficking.

In December of 2016, CHOR officially welcomed Kristin as a Clinician to help girls with severe mental health and behavioral issues, requiring a higher level of residential care. Her skill-sets coupled with specialized training and certifications, namely Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy, made her a highly qualified clinician at CHOR's GRTF. She worked as a Clinician and an on-call Licensed Practitioner to provide treatment services and counseling to girls in the program.

Kristin’s dedication and passion for her work translated immaculately into her performance, as in just a few years, she got promoted as the Lead Clinician. As a Lead Clinician, she provided direct supervision to the girls in the Residential Treatment Program and offered co-leadership to all Residential Campus Clinicians and Clinical Services. Her latest accomplishments represent CHOR’s ultimate mission: “ Caring for the needs of children and families in crises while preparing them for success in life, thereby strengthening the Quality of Life in the Communities we serve. "

CHOR is very excited and honored to have Kristin White as a crucial part of the Girls Residential Treatment Facility. Her valuable input and expertise will only assist in catapulting CHOR in furthering its mission and vision.
