Holiday Toy Run is the Official Start to the Holiday Gift Drive!

December 2023

Bikers from five different clubs met at Reading Motorcycle Club to put their kickstands up and make their way to the Children’s Home of Reading to help less fortunate kids in our community.  Over $1400 in gift cards and more in toys and games was raised during the Holiday Toy Run.

"This is the official kick off every year to start our Holiday Gift Drive, and the kids and bikers have a great time mingling," said Jill Troutman, VP Advancement, Marketing and Communications for The Children’s Home of Reading.

“We start planning the same day for the next year, and love that we can make a difference for the kids", said Bob Yohn, organizer from Garden Spot Motorcycle Club.

Riders and kids enjoyed hot chocolate and snacks while discussing motorcycles, engineering and getting a visit in with Santa.

"The Holiday Gift Drive has started and over 10,000 kids wishes are ready to be filled," Troutman said, "We are just looking for some elves and helpers now.”

Children’s Home of Reading serves over 4000 kids and their families throughout 40 programs.  If you would like to learn more, please visit buildingkidslives.org, email chor.lynch@gmail.com, call 610-478-8266 ext 1249.
